The biggest mistake organizations make is the cheapest and easiest to fix. Translation software or a perhaps well-meaning employee renders the company name, product names, and tagline in target languages. Often badly.
Braniff Airlines’ slogan “Fly in Leather” became in Spanish “Fly naked.” Puff face tissues used its own name in Germany. But “Puff” is German slang for whorehouse. Nike used a decoration to resemble fire on its shoes but the symbol resembled the Arabic for “God”, a horrendous error in the Muslim world.
